SK
Telecom Cloud Storage |
Since
June 2010, PSPACE worked with SK Telecom as
a partner for developing Storage
Technologies for SK Telecom¡¯s Cloud Storage
Services. This project was in
the form of SK Telecom¡¯s Technologies Internalization
Project for Cloud Service Technologies.
PSPACE used InfiniStor as a base
system for SK Telecom. |
| |
The
1st year development was completed in Nov.
2010 and tested in
SK Telecom Mobile Education Services
for testing reliabilities and acceptabilities
tests. |
| |
After
completing 1st stage development, SK Telecom
and PSPACE decided to add security
features to InfiniStor.
That is PSPACE added AES based
encryption technologies in InfiniStor. Thus,
when file is stored to DISK, data is encrypted
using AES method.
To enhance the performance of
the process, we used Intel¡¯s latest CPU architecture,
Westmere, to make use of AES-NI technology.
AES-NI is Intel¡¯s latest technology
that the CPU already contains AES instructions
in the core of CPU level to speed up CPU consuming
work. Using AES-NI, we were able
to enhance the encryption speed by the factor
of 14 times.
Now, SK Telecom is using TFS,
InfiniStor based Storage system, for various
uses of Storage services for both internal
and public users.

|
 |
|
|
Currently,
TFS is used in call recording, distance learning services.
Soon, TFS is expected to be used in T-Bag and
T-Biz Cloud Services. |
| |
Recently
SK Telecom made another contract with PSPACE to develop
Block Data Storage System. PSPACE will use PSTORE as
a base platform to develop the block storage system.
Although PSTORE is not production ready, SK
Telecom believe PSPACE can deliver block data storage
system by end of Dec. 2011.
The prototype of PSTORE will be installed
and deployed to T-Biz Cloud services for serving Virtualization
OS delivery services.
As InfiniStor, PSTORE will be general purpose
storage system and very successful Unified Multi-Protocol
systems to debut in the market by middle of
2012.
With PSPACE¡¯s Storage technologies, SK Telecom
is able to deliver the most reliable and scalable Cloud
Storage Services in limited time and budget. |
| |
With
very close co-development, PSPACE can develop the latest
technologies and use SK Telecom¡¯s service infrastructure
as a real test bed. At the same time, SK Telecom
can test the latest storage technologies and make request
to PSPACE to customize technologies to fit
their needs. |
